Binding extremities lightly rubbed with some minor fading and wear to boards and spine. Light foxing and offsetting. Small tear to the upper margin of pages 285-286, not affecting text. A near fine copy in an attractive period binding. Eberhart August Wilhelm von Zimmerman (1743-1815) was a German geographer and zoologist. He studied natural history and mathematics in Leiden, Halle, Berlin, and Gottingen and, in 1776, was appointed professor of mathematics and natural sciences at the Collegium Carolinum.
