likely, New York, likely early 1960s. Ephemera. Near Fine. Eleven paper-clipped sheets of lined yellow legal paper (8.5x14 inches), numbered and handwritten in pencil on the recto only, with some scratch-outs and corrections. A little wrinkling along the edges; a little dust-smudging; otherwise fine, and perfectly legible. An interesting look at the prolific writer's process, this one-act play takes place in a Park Avenue apartment in Manhattan, with a cast of four (Bella Hoppin, Chauncey Lefferts, Mr. Lane, Butler). We don't know if the play was ever performed, even casually, but a short story of this title and similar content appeared in "Tales of Manhattan" in 1967. (Inventory #: D14069)
