II: "Gabriel Towson, formerly a fellow of All Souls and later a Hertfordshire rector, also wrote a moderating analysis of the Ten Commandments which he published the year after Durham's book appeared [Durham, James, The Law Unsealed, or a Practical Exposition of the Ten Commandments, Edinburgh, 1676]. Towerson dedicated his study to the archbishop of Canterbury and as expected championed an orthodox Anglican approach" (Katz, p. 113). Towerson was an English clergyman who studied at All Souls' College and published nine theological works before his death.
