[Washington], 1839. 4pp. Dbd. Minor toning. Very good. Scarce document including extracts from Florida governor Richard K. Call regarding the conflicts of the Second Seminole War. Call was appointed governor in 1836 by Andrew Jackson, and proceeded to lead troops through several victorious battles against the Seminoles, including the Battles of Wahoo Swamp. In his message to the Territorial Legislature of Florida, he calls for additional forces and more support for settlers in the area, citing their fatigue and lack of success in tactics against the Seminoles thus far. Call was removed from office later in the year due to disagreement with the federal government over the conflict. (Inventory #: WRCAM51049)
