Blue boards have a gilt eagle and swastika on the front board and gilt spine lettering. Boards have lightly bumped corners and spine ends with little edge wear, with one small soil spot on rear board. Some bowing of boards. Blue-green top edge and lower edge have light scuffs. Spine cracked at frontispiece. Clean interior. The frontispiece photo with tissue guard has a facsimile signature with Hitler's original blue ink signature just below it. A 1996 authentication slip by Harold Keith Thompson is laid in. Thompson (1922-2002) was a member of Admiral Byrd's Antarctic Expedition and author of a famous1954 Expose magazine article "I Am an American Fascist" and a book denouncing the Nuremberg trials. Thompson had also been recruited by the SS intelligence unit Sicherheitsdienst in 1941 due to his outspoken sympathy for the Nazis. He was later a New York literary agent and expert on the Third Reich and autographs. Mein Kampf was dictated to Rudolf Hess when Hitler was in prison for his failed 1923 coup attempt and was first published in two volumes in 1925 and 1926. Later it was published as one volume.
