Unpaginated (28pp) printed in color on stiff paper. Pictorial boards. Each page with decorated borders and a color illustration at the top. Describes the adventures of Captain Chunky and his crew. Light overall wear, else a very good copy. Rare. Chloe Preston (1887-1969) was a children's author and artist whose work was frequently seen both in books and postcards beginning in 1910 through the mid 1930s. She is best known for her cute, cherubic children in adult guise and situations. Of curious note is the British origins of this edition are evident in the "H.M.S.' Chunky" in the interior illustrations, but "U.S.S." Chunky " in the cover illustrations.
