News for a people's world: reporting for social change in northern California. [37 issues; apparently the full run]
San Francisco: Pacific Publishing Foundation, 1996. 37 issues of the tabloid format newspaper, issued by the publishing company that had previously produced the People's World newspaper for the Communist Party. Issues present are vol. 1 nos. 1-10, vol. 2 nos. 1-12, vol. 3 nos. 1-11, and vol. 4 nos. 1-4. The last issue is twice as thick as average (16 pages). Very good. In this period after the split in the Party, the perspective of the paper at hand became democratic socialist, and it brought together individuals who had previously belonged to competing Trotskyist and Marxist-Leninist groups as well. Activists/authors involved include Pele de Lappe, Barry Sheppard, Max Elbaum, John Trinkl, Kendra Alexander, etc. (Inventory #: 203306)
