Berkeley: Flying Fish Press, 1992. Stylized folding map paper construct, with unfolding panels of text and image, bound into open-sewn cloth binding (10 x 10 cm). Inserted into specially constructed hanging box (see below). Fine. First edition. Copy #82 of 100 numbered copies, signed by the artist. A relatively early work from Chen's press. The text and format present a meditation on emotional navigation, either self-directed or other. The box enclosing the book has a front panel of Plexi under which appear a pair of dice, a compass, a hand holding a plumb and line and a navigational dial incorporating the title. Chen founded the Flying Fish Press in 1987, and has published both solo and collaborative works of considerable innovation and beauty. (Inventory #: WRCLIT75845)
