San Francisco: n.pub, 1976. 6.5x9.25 inch leaflet on thin card, with photo of the radical lawyer standing at a microphone with a distinctive pendant around his neck; the blank verso has a handwritten address and canceled postage stamp. Small thumbtack hole at top. Announcement of a party to raise funds for the defense against charges of tax evasion (as a protest against the Vietnam War) by the attorney remembered for his defense of Huey Newton, the New World Liberation Front, Hooty Croy, and various members of the White Panthers and Hells Angels. The Island, a restaurant in the Castro District, was run by Dennis Peron, the marijuana activist. (Inventory #: 203349)
