First edition of Zelayeta's second cook book, following Elena's Famous Mexican and Spanish Recipes — this present book focusing on "gay festive recipes for the meals that Elena serves her friends and family" (p. ix). The foreword, by Helen Evans Brown, points out the => differences between Mexican and Spanish cuisines, and notes that both of them inspired Zelayeta, who was an indomitable force in the kitchen in spite of her blindness; Marka Ritchie provided additional commentaries throughout the book.
The text is => printed in red and green, with instructions and comments laid out in such a fashion that the recipes feel like a series of casual conversations.
