First edition: Two dramas based on Quaker and witch trials. The words "Isaiah" on p. 12 and "Upsall" on p. 71 are printed with unbattered metal, as mentioned in the BAL as an indication of an early printing.
Binding: Green publisher's cloth with gilt lettering and Ticknor & Fields' device on spine, covers double-ruled in blind, front cover with publication information framed in center. Pendants in the device are filled in.
BAL 12150. Bound as above; gently rubbed, a small amount of soiling, text cocked, front hinge tender, back hinge cracked. Pages gently age-toned but clean. Ex–social club library with rubber-stamps on title page and one leaf of text, call number written on label on front endpaper and spine in a 19th-century hand, front endpaper also with cloth tape over signature.
