After that, she became embroiled in political turmoil because of her German husband, Captain Hans Tauscher, who supplied arms and munitions to the German Army and was arrested, but later acquitted, in a plot to blow up Canada's Welland Canal. Gadski is shown as BrÃ¼nnhilde, a role she defined for her era, being coached by Cosima at Bayreuth and performing it 45 times at the Metropolitan Opera.
