Marbled endpapers and edges, Illustrated with six full page woodcuts. The binding is signed Relfe Brothers, London. The Knight of the Lion, Huon's Task, The Dragon of Rhodes, The Rescue of the Queen, Roland and Oliver, Florice and Blancheflower, The Ransom, The Son of Amadis, The Knight and the Abbott, Steel-Heart, The Demon Knight and The Challenge. This appears to be the first edition of Hope's retelling. Some copies have publisher's catalogs dated 1877, and so we have used this as the date of publication. Later edition had a different number of illustrations, or photographs as illustrations. Prize plate on front pastedown dated 1883, else this is in fine, bright condition.
