London: Hodder and Stoughton, 1931. First edition. Hardcover. Very good. Large 8vo. xiv, 355pp. Deep blue cloth, spine with gilt titles, and both spine and upper board with a red fox. Illustrated with 20 folding maps. Frontispiece portrait. World War I in Europe. We note 4pp, in the section on St. Quentin with faint highlighting, also traces of foxing in the first and last few pages and on the foredge. A neat gift inscription dated 1955. But this is a very good copy with the maps all in fine condition.
