Blackstone's Modern Card Tricks and Secrets of Magic
by Blackstone, Harry
Garden City: Garden City Publishing Co., Inc, 1941. Reprint. Hardcover. Good +/very good. 265pp. Octavo [20.5 cm] Textured red paper over boards. Publisher's red top stain. Lightly rubbed at the spine ends and along the edges of the covers. There is a large blue stain on the bottom edge of the text block, and there is a small stain on the top edge of the text block. Both stains leave very light moisture stains in the margins of the pages. No price present on the dust jacket (Star Books device at the foot of the jacket's spine). There are multiple small open tears in the edges of the jacket, and there is a 1 1/2" closed tear in the top edge of the front panel. Despite these flaws, the jacket is still quite attractive. The first section of the book reveals a complete collection of the best contemporary card tricks, while the second section of the book is devoted to Blackstone's sensational methods, such as sleight-of-hand and optical illusions.
