Chicago: Field Columbian Museum, 1905. First edition. Leather bound. Fair. 319pp. Octavo [24.5 cm] 3/4 brown leather with brown cloth covered boards. Speckled text block edges. Ex-library, with few markings (traces of a library check out slip and pocket on the rear endsheet). The extremities are rubbed, the front cover is hanging on by a thread, and the rear cover is completely detached. There is a large loss from the leather at the foot of the backstrip, that measures 2 and 1/2 inches long. The underlying boards are exposed at the corners. Contents include The Snake Myth, The Two War Gods and the Two Maidens, Journey to the Skeleton House, The Crow as a Spirit of Evil, Why the Ants are so Thin, and much more. (Inventory #: 47409)
