Image measures 15.75" x 13" This beautiful first edition city plan of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania covers from the Delaware River to the Schuylkill River and includes downtown Philadelphia and a part of Camden. Shows streets, notable buildings, parks, railroads and is color coded according to wards. The map was published in J. H. Colton's 1855 "Atlas of the World". In good condition with small chip near top right corner, not affecting printed image. The Colton family was one the most prolific and successful publishers of maps and atlases in the United States. J.H. Colton (1800-1893) founded his business in NYC in 1831. (Inventory #: 267413)
