Paste papers are one of the earliest forms of decorative papers hand-painted onto paper using brushes, tools, and household gadgets to create designs over a surface covered with a paste and acrylic paints mixture. They have been used for both cover papers and endpapers for centuries. "Below each of the 50 Plate numbers is a list of the primary tools used in creating the design. Over the years Marie has collected a wide assortment of tools. Favorite tools in this volume include Xiem Art Rollers, Blockwallah stamps made in India, and the handle of a plastic spoon. While some of the tools used may be the same as in previous paste paper volumes, the techniques used and the results are as unique as one snowflake from another.
