Shirley Jones has enjoyed a remarkable career in musical theater, film, and television and is still going strong. Some of her best known work includes the musicals Carousel and The Music Man (both in film and on Broadway), the Richard Brooks film Elmer Gantry with Burt Lancaster (1960) for which she won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, as the mother in the hit television series The Partridge Family (1970 - 1974), as well as many appearances in various other and television drama and sit-com series.
