"Personal files of Red Army officers. Most of these people were repressed and later rehabilitated. They include service records, attestations, autobiographies, Party references, extracts from minutes of Party commissions for purges of Party organizations, photos and other military documents. Most - end of 1920s - 1930s. Some files contain of 20 documents other 30 or 50 ,the most interesting are the extracts from minutes of Party commissions. here are translations from extracts from similar files that may or may not be included in this archive: 1. The District Party Commission ascertained that Kopachev: 1. Kept connection with Poland till 1932; received letters and cuttings from newspapers about USSR and also the ""Selrod"" march; as he stated kept correspondence with his familiars who lived in Poland; 2. He concealed from the Party Organization that his two uncles and wife's father were convicted, one uncle dispossessed. It is ascertained by the Red Army Political Administration Kopachev till 1932 had a letter connection with his familiar Stefanovich who lived in Poland and he did not conceal about it. He concealed that his two uncles were repressed in 1929. The Political Commission of the Red Army Political Administration by its decision from 25.3.1938 restored Kopachev as a Party member. The Party Commission told off Kopachev a severe reprimand and warning for relaxing his vigilance and incomplete interpretation in autobiography in the interrogatory of his relatives. We consider necessary to discharge Kopachev from the Red Army. The Chief of the Personnel Department of the Red Army Political Administration ...The Instructor of the Department ..."" 2.""Extract of the Meeting of the Party Commission No3 for Purge of the Party Organization of the 75th Infantry Regiment. Listened: Merezhko F.A. The Battalion Commander ... At the beginning of 1920 he entered the Red Army 15th Division and was appointed a Company Commander. In June he took part in fights against Wrangel troops; was captive together with his company. As a captive he was sent to a reserve battalion where he graduated from a training crew and was appointed an assistant of the instructor of training persons. At his words he escaped to the Red Army during the retreat of Wrangel but the Commission ascertained he did not escape from the captivity. During his way he entered a Makhno detachment from which he went over to the 5th Latvian Regiment. On Dec. 1921 he was directed to Chuguev school and joined the Party at the same year but was excluded from there for accomplishment a religious rite (wedding) ...Questions: It is incomprehensible why did Merezhko escaped from the White Army being a teacher there. He must has escaped as they were pressed to the Black Sea ...The opinion of the Chief of the Commission: going over from Wrangel to the Red Army was forced. The White Army retreated and he had nowhere to go"". Speaked: - 13 persons expressed their negative opinions about him. One of them, for example:""No 9. It is evident the Merezhko relatives are not port workers. Merezhko is a careerist. He was fixed up to study all his life. He studied at the White Army too. He took a wife - a gymnasia pupil and got married in church on her wish. He was excluded from the Party because of that. Joined the Party for second time just because the Commissar told him: ""You must be in the Party"". Such a ""communist"" must have no place in the Party"". ... The Commission resolved to exclude him from the Party because of concealment of his stay at the training crew of the White Army; concealment the fact of his captivity by the Red Army after the seizure of Perecop in 1920; concealment the origin of his wife who was a daughter of a possessions manager ... supported feelings of the demoralized commanders" (Inventory #: 31063)
