The sketchbook contains an anthology of Moore’s drawings from his mature period of the late1970s. Subjects include the reclining figure (mostly of women); the seated figure; mother andchild; bones (ideas for sculpture); domestic scenes; old master paintings. The sketchbook alsoshows studies of section line drawings which are forms described purely by line with no shading.Moore called these the “stringed form and internal and external forms."
The complete set consists of
(1) etching and aquatint in colors, on wove paper, signed in pencil, numbered B 47/75, loosewithin the beige paper wrappers (as issued).
(2) facsimile sketchbook, 86pps. Signed in pencil “Moore” and numbered B 47/75 on a label onthe back cover, bound in burgundy canvas-covered boards.
(3) Garrould, Anna. Henry Moore Sketchbook 1980. Text pamphlet in wrappers. 24pp,introduction plus description of pages in the sketchbook.
(4). Original fitted beige paper-covered solander box . Covered with Richard de Bas handmadepaper.
