1889. · Chicago:
by Cram, George F.
Unbound, removed (10 1/2" x 14") colored, decent margins. Paper slightly brittle, reinforced lower margin, normal aging; otherwise very good.
George F Cram (1842-1928) served in the army during the Civil War, and founded his map company in Illinois in 1867, long after most of the major map companies established their business. Despite being wipped out by the Chicago fire in 1871, the company rebuilt and survived and started making globes in 1932, and continued as a business for over 130 years. This a great and attractive map of the City of Detroit, includes a fair amount of detail. (Inventory #: 106210)
