Second Elzevir edition; 4to, pp. [16], 387, [15]; title page printed in red and black, printer's woodcut device, Greek and Latin in parallel columns; the Proverbs of Gregory, Patriarch of Cyprus, are given in Greek only; contemporary full parchment, covers with decorative gilt border enclosing a gilt lozenge central, above which the initials M.I.H.T., gilt-decorated spine with title in manuscript; the gilt is almost wholly tarnished and blackened; bottom 2 inches of spine cracked, with small piece of parchment missing; rubberstamp on title page of Fritz Carnap, under which in ink "Biblioth. Gymn. Gotting. 1729," and on the verso of the title, 2 18th- or early 19th-century institutional rubberstamps, both with small release stamps next to them. Bookplate of Otto Jahn on front pastedown.
