Probable first American Edition, originally published in Edinburgh in 1850.Charlotte Tucker was the daughter of Henry St. George Tucker (Bermuda 1771-London, 1851). He was the eldest son of Henry Tucker (secretary and then later, President of the Council of the Bermudas) and his wife, Frances, daughter of the Governor of Bermuda George Bruere. Tucker married Jane, daughter of Robert Boswell, who was a near relation of James Boswell, biographer of Samuel Johnson. Tucker states in a biographical account that he was eldest of ten sons and had one sister. (Inventory #: 2337)
