Rubbed edges and scuffing of spine. Binding tight. Speckled edges with light soil on edges and a few pages. Edge toning of endpapers. Some penciled notes and corrections on pages. This is an interesting association copy with the front pastedown containing the pasted in printed name of Emerson H. Liscum, a colonel who died in China's Boxer Rebellion and was commemorated by a famous silver piece, the Liscum Bowl. 165, 226, 235,  foldout charts.
