Cincinnati: Anderson, Gates & Wright, 1858. Reprint. Very good in original blind embossed, brown cloth covered boards with gilt text stamped on the spine. A 16mo measuring 7 by 4 3/8 inches with the cloth at the head and heel of the spine worn down to the edge of the text block and the cloth at the lower tips of the boards is worn through. The text block is tight, clean and free of foxing and tanning, but does show a 1/2" deep by 1" dampness stain at the upper margins none of which impact on the printing. Without a dust jacket. 288 pages including an index. Illustrated with an engraved frontispiece by S. Lovejoy and six engraved plates. Originally printed in 1838 in Cincinnati. (Howes D-459)
