The illustrations by Arthur Hughes (1832 - 1915), English painter and illustrator who became part of the London pre-Raphaelite group of artists. The illustrations are engraved by the Brothers Dalziel.Large 16mo, x, 130pp, frontispiece, 120 wood engravings. In the original publisher's navy cloth, bright gilt and black decorations on the front board, decorative gilt spine a bit dull. Printed by John Wilson & Son, Cambridge.
