Profusely illustrated "Analyzing the written graffiti words or sentences and tracing back the political, economic and social factors behind them illustrates the art piece in a different perspective. During the mass demonstration in Beirut that took place in Marty'rs Square in 2005, hundreds of people wrote their thoughts and messages on an enormous petition and on the temporary wooden walls that surrounded the space. Photographing the Lebanses Petition and the walls made me realize the power of the written words and the different personalities of the people expressing their thoughts with their own unique handwriting. ... In 2008 I participated in 'Bombing Beirut'; a graffiti workshop organized by Stone (Don Karl) in which I created my first piece of Arabic graffiti, 'Whi is the Arab." ... Since then, Don and I have shared our interest in the Arabic graffiti scene. This book is the fruit of our collaboration.Pascal Zoghbi is an Arabic type designer and typographer, and is the founder of 29letters, an Arabic type design and typography firm in Beirut, Lebanon.
