This four-line, third-person note was written by the 1st Marquess Wellesley to a Mrs. Bates about an account of his wife, in full: "Lord Wellesley presents his compliments to Mrs. Bates; & begs leave to inclose the last account of Lady Wellesley, which he has received from Lady Stafford."
