Schreibkunst: Schulkunst und Volkskunst in der deutschsprachigen Schweiz, 1548 bis 1980
by Batschmann, Oskar et al.
Zurich: Kunstgewerbemuseum Zurich, 1981. Softcover. VG (Minimal wear to edges, surfaces are clean, carries inscription to former owner on an opening page.). White & illus. wraps, 179 pp., BW and color illus. Text is in German. Issued in conjunction with a 1981 exhibition of "writing art" emanating from the German-speaking portion of Switzerland, across four and a half centuries. Looks QUITE similar to the Fraktur work done by Pennsylvania Germans, or the Pennsylvania Dutch, into the 1900s. And why shouldn't it? Many had Swiss roots. This catalogue has a variety of illustrated and thematic essays and dozens of examples of the artwork. Fraktur aficionadoes will be eager to see this one. Uncommon.
