New York, 1899. Eight volumes. Sewn decorated wrappers. Some finger and dust smudges to wrappers, else a very good lot. Eight of the ten separate unauthorized printings of poems by Kipling first published by Buckles (here represented by "The Undertaker's Garland") and then by Alex Grosset & Company (the rest). "Gunga Din" and "The Vampire" are not present here. The texts were also printed collectively as TEN GEMS FROM KIPLING. That format is as common as dust, this format is somewhat less so, perhaps comparable in ease of acquisition as properly cooked okra. RICHARDS E1-49. STEWART, p.604. (Inventory #: WRCLIT76314)
