Philadelphia: S. Augustus Mitchell. Good. A pocket map book missing its pocket map, but with a large index sheet containing all sorts of statistics on the United States. Green stamped binding with bright gilt imprint has worn corners, soil, and missing spine ends. The fragile index sheet has fold splits that could use some repair and is lightly soiled, measuring 17 3/4" x 22". A lengthy keyed index is followed by several tables including steam-boat and canal routes, population of the United States by inhabitant class, lengths of the principal rivers, proposed and constructed railroads, and height of principal mountains and hills, with Longs Peak listed as the highest of the Rocky Moutains at 12000 feet.
