Akron, OH: Saalfield Pub. Co, 1933. Peat, Fern Bisel. Oblong folio. (6)ff. First edition. Intact and unused paper doll book of a fully-stocked grocery store. Includes 206 perforated pieces printed on heavy card stock. The grocery store is well-stocked with a detailed and thorough selection of foodstuffs: sweets, produce, baking ingredients, meats, and even live chickens. Price tags, shelves, and a cash register complete the store. Also includes four figures-the proprietor of the store in a white apron, a rich woman with a long grocery list, a second woman with a scarf perusing a basket of apples, and a boy with his dog. The color cover can become part of the scene, with slots cut in the shelves for inserting price tags and other pieces. Light wear to covers and tiny crease to corner of front cover, else a fine piece, rarely found complete.
