Buffalo, NY: Breed, Butler & Co, 1863. 61pp. From the second of six sets of miniature books for children published by Breed, Butler, and Co. in the 1860s. Each set, smaller than the last, comprises six volumes bound in colorful embossed and gilt-stamped cloth. The stories are all written by Frances Elizabeth Barrow under the pseudonyms "Aunt Laura" and "Aunt Fanny." This volume has the signature of a previous young owner to the front paste-down. Very light oxidation and fading, slight wear to spine, inner hinge split, else a near fine copy in gilt-stamped publisher's cloth.
