NY: Anderson, Selden W., 1908. Square octavo. (14)pp. Anderson's Limp Cloth Books No. 12. Illustrated in color and printed on linen cloth. A Christmas rag book featuring Clement Clarke Moore's poem "A Visit from St. Nicholas" printed in red. Santa's nighttime call at a sleepy house is watched over by an expressive moon. The front cover shows an American Santa with the Stars and Stripes tucked into his bag of toys; the rear cover shows a baby holding a drenched rag book in a bathtub, advertising the nigh-indestructible nature of cloth books. Hand-stitched red cloth spine. Ownership inscription to the first page in a neat child's hand, dated Christmas 1908. Some soiling, a crease near the edge of the front cover, and a few fraying threads to the unfinished linen edges, else a near fine copy of an uncommon imprint, with no copies listed in OCLC.
