Grossmann was a Russian writer and journalist of Jewish descent. He joined the Russian army voluntarily as a war reporter for the newspaper Krasnaja Swesda after the Germans had attacked Russia in 1941 and reported on the battles of Moscow and Stalingrad among others. He is known for his description of the ethnic cleansing in the Ukraine, Belarus and Poland. The "Hölle von Treblinka (Hell of Treblinka)" was one of the first eyewitness reports about concentration camps. The article was originally published in 1944 and was used as a document by the prosecution during the Nuremberg Trials. Text in German. Light wear along edges and block lightly age-toned. Wraps and interior in overall very good condition.
