"The two MSS. from which the Scholia edited and translated in the following pages have been taken, were obtained from the Syrian convent in the Desert of Nitria. They are numbered 14,483 and 17,193 among the additional Manuscripts in the British Museum, where they were deposited, the former in 1843, and the latter in 1847. The one, which became the property of the Museum in 1843, was brought to England by Archdeacon Tattam, the other by M. Auguste Pacho" (Author). Mar Jacob was the Bishop of Edessa. The original Syriac text was first edited with an English translation and notes by George Phillips, President of the Queen's College, Cambridge. Text in English and Syriac.
