Some minor creasing, very good overall. Oblong 4to. Boards, gilt-stamped "M.S. Kungsholm" and "Swedish American Line" to front cover. n.p. (Gothenburg?) n.d. (circa 1930). A stunning survey of 1930's Swedish luxury decorative arts and interior design and a fascinating look at the interior of an ocean liner at the height of its glory. The MS Kungsholm was built at the Blohm & Voss shipyard in Hamburg, Germany in 1928 and made transatlantic trips from Gothenburg to New York from 1928 to 1941. In 1938, as the flagship of the Swedish American line, the MS Kungsholm carried the Crown Prince and Princess of Sweden. The ship was requisitioned for service in 1941, placed under control of the US Goverment's War Shipping Administration, and had its name changed to the John Ericsson. After the war, it was sold back to the Swedish American Line, changing hands several times before becoming a floating hotel owned by Freeport Bahama Enterprises. The ship was finally scrapped in 1965. As of November 2015, we can not locate any listings of this volume through WorldCat. (Inventory #: 48376)
