Long ink inscription dated "April 1930" on front free end-paper. Two neat tape repairs to lower verso of pp. 12/13, small newspaper clipping affixed to lower blank margin of p. 135 leaving small area of discoloration on facing page, newspaper clipping? removed from verso of last blank leaf leaving area of discoloration on facing blank page. Front inner hinge cracked but firm, minimal rubbing to corners. Aside from the aforementioned a nice copy."It was intended that this book should be printed only in America, and would contain some of the writings about [Beatrix Potter's] farm animals in a fairy caravan setting, pieced together with fragments of her miscellaneous unpublished work…It is about a travelling circus known as Alexander and William's Circus, which was invisible to humans…Apart from the numerous pen-and-ink drawings for The Fairy Caravan, there were to be a number of coloured illustrations" (Linder, pp. 292-294).Linder, p. 431.
