Pale green dj with evergreen lettering and line drawing. 219 pp. with 520 bw illustrations. Includes the works of 57 names artists, arranged alphabetically, and many who are anonymous, arranged iconographically according to subject matter. Entries include detailed information adout each work as well as biographical information about known artists. Covers the few surviving drawings of the 15th century and the large inventory from the 16th century, with all the surviving drawings of El Greco.
