Good. Map. Extracted from an early edition of The Royal Atlas Of Modern Geography, first published by British map publisher Alexander Keith Johnson in 1861. Light edge toning and soil, very faint fold lines. Circa 1860s, bearing an imprint of Day & Son, Lithographers to the Queen, a firm name dating the map from 1867 or earlier, with routes for the proposed Pacific Railroad shown. The hand-colored atlas sheet is neatly trimmed on the binding edge and shows west Texas, southeastern New Mexico, and much of northern Mexico. A scarce find in this early edition. ; 19" x 15 1/2" .
