1885. Paperback. (TRADE CATALOGUE) OGILVIE, J.S. OGILVIE'S HOUSE PLANS, HOW TO BUILD A HOUSE. New York: 1885. Square 12mo. Pictorial wrappers. 44, (45-50), 10, (4) pages. A rare trade catalogue. OCLC records a few examples but published mainly in Chicago. It only records two examples of the New York imprint: Yale and University of Virginia. Hitchcock lists a variant of another Ogilvie title, does not list this one. The designs are simple and inexpensive wood building each shown in floor plan and perspective of twenty-five houses of all sizes, from two rooms up. "A book worth its weight in gold to any person who intend to build a house." A cheap publication printed on poor quality paper, this w meant to be ephemeral which is why there are so few examples of them known. Internally very good. (Inventory #: 39713)
