Pedro de Aguado (1513 or 1538 – late 16th or early 17th century) was a Franciscan missionary who lived for approximately 15 years in Nueva Granada (i.e., Venezuela) where he worked among the indigenous populaiton. He was an avid collctory of information and manuscripts for the history of the region. He left an unpublished manuscript "Recopilación historial," which is the text of the present work, but which manuscript was not published until the 20th century. This edition is a publication of the Real Academia de la Historia and contains "prólogo, notas y apéndices por Jerónimo Bécker."
This is a multi-volume work and will require extra postage. Very good condition, original wrappers bound in a full leather binding. Former owner's bookplate. (Inventory #: 36694)
