An appealing copy of a rare title. $250. * Only edition. Setzer was a jurist and law professor who taught at the University of Jena and, later, University of Frankfurt am Oder. A fine example of late-humanist rhetoric, De Incrementis Academiarum is the published version of an academic address, most likely an inaugural address delivered at the commencement of the academic year at the University of Frankfurt am Oder. Setzer praises the role of universities and learned societies in the wider diffusion of knowledge in the last century and the qualities of a good university. This is a rare title.
