Hagreen, who worked between 1918 and 1959, was a fine wood engraver who studied with Eric Gill. Illustrated with 118 bookplates designed by Hagreen and printed in a variety of colors. The Introduction by John Bennett Shaw is printed underneath the reproductions of Hagreen's bookplates and, thus, runs throughout the entirety of the book. Top edge of front cover a bit faded and the slightest wear to extremities, else fine in cloth-backed patterned boards with errata slip laid-in.
