In 1871 developers bought the land for Villa Park, but their original grand plans, designed by none other than landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, did not materialize, and the area of Villa Park was slow to develop. Jerome B. Chaffee, one of the founders of Denver, was one of the original developers, as was George S.
