Victoria, 1863. Very good condition. Keilor is now a suburb of Melbourne just west of Tullamarine. The township was a noted camping place for people and bullock teams to and from the gold diggings at Castlemaine, Ballarat and Bendigo. Keilor Post Office opened on 2 March 1854 and a general store, blacksmith, hotel, police station, courthouse and bridge were all built during this time. One deed to John Harris dated 27th January 1854, for L 42, Signed by Charles Joseph LaTrobe, the Lieutenant Governor of Victoria. Wax seal, bordering Arabin (sic) St. 17 1/2 x 13 1/4"; folded 4 1/2 x 13 1/4". The other deed to Margret (sic) Harris of Keilor, signed by C.H. Darling, (Governor of Victoria 1863-66), bordering Arabin Street, with was seal, dated 27th November 1863. Price L 3.
