New York: Fred Coe & Arthur Cantor, 1961. Softcover. Very Good. Mimeographed sheets screwbound into Hart Stenographic Service wrappers. A couple of chips to the front wrapper, else very good. Dramatic play set in Biblical times by the renowned playwright famous for his many fine 1950s teleplays. The play ran for 236 performances starting late in 1961, directed by Tyrone Guthrie with Fredric March. This script Inscribed by the author to New York critic Leonard Lyons and his wife Sylvia: "May /61. Dear Leonard and Sylvia: The closest I could get to Sylvia is Sarah (1-1-8) and 'vise up like a lion' (1-1-21). Enjoy in good health. Paddy." Chayefsky has circled each passage in the script. Lyons was a syndicated columnist for the *New York Post*, whose influential column on Broadway was "The Lyon's Den." Rare, and with a nice association. (Inventory #: 86692)
