Boston, 1782. 4pp. Folio. Silked on both sides. Minor losses and wear at old folds. Contemporary notation at top of first page. Light scattered soiling. Very good. Revolutionary-era newspaper containing, Lord Shelburne's speech at Parliament on Nov. 27, 1781, calling for an end to the war with America. Shelburne insists that the conflict has gone on quite long enough and the cost has far outweighed the benefit. Several months later Shelburne took office in the British government, and was made Prime Minister shortly thereafter, soon bringing the war to an end. A significant number of advertisements are also included, as are some brief tidbits from around the colonies (Inventory #: WRCAM43203)
