Byrd's Great Adventure with the Complete Story of All Polar Explorations for One Thousand Years
by Miller, Francis Trevelyan
Chicago: The John C. Winston Company, 1930. First edition. Hardcover. Fine/Very good. 8vo. 383pp. Blue cloth blocked in black and silver on the upper boards and spine, and with a full color pasteon to the upper board. Full color map endpapers of the polar regions. Illustrated with photographs and historical prints, and with a full color frontispiece of Byrd;s plane (same as in the pasteon). Forewords by General A. W. Greely and Dr. Henry Fairfield Osborn. A fine, bright, nearly as new copy with only a trace of wear along the bottom edges of the boards. In the first state dustwrapper with the advertisement for "To The South Seas" on the rear panel and nothing on the rear flap. The dustwrapper is not clipped, showing the original $2.00 price, but it is rough along the edges. Still it gives a very good, colorful appearance.
